Bulk hauler contributes $10,000 to Snack Pak 4 Kids based on nomination by driver who volunteered with organization

United Petroleum Transports (UPT), a bulk chemical hauler headquartered in Oklahoma, recently made a $10,000 donation to Amarillo TX charity Snack Pak 4 Kids.

The donation was made on behalf of the UPT Family Fund, which was created in 2012 to honor the philanthropic spirit of company founder Keith Price. Through the fund, UPT annually contributes to community-based charities and non-profits within its areas of operation based on nominations by company employees and associates.

“UPT and the entire UPT family is dedicated to the communities where we work and live,” said Greg Price, UPT president and CEO. “Being able to support wonderful organizations like Snack Pak 4 Kids is an example of that. They provide a vital service to the Amarillo community, and our own employees have seen their work first-hand.”

Snack Pak 4 Kids was nominated by Jeff Monroe, a UPT driver in Amarillo who used to volunteer with the organization.

“I like that all the work is done by volunteers,” Monroe said. “The packing and the delivering are all done by people in the community, so all the money goes straight to buying more food.”

Dyron Howell, the charity’s founder, was ecstatic to hear the news about the donation. “Due to the pandemic, we are at a 40% increase in need over where we were last year,” he said. “This gift is coming at the perfect time.

“It is an answer to a prayer.”
