ACC: Resin production increases in November

U.S. production of major plastic resins totaled 9 billion lbs. in November 2024, an increase of 5.8% compared to the prior month, and 10.5% compared to the same month in 2023, according to new statistics from the American Chemistry Council (ACC).

Year-to-date production was 93.4 billion lbs., a 5.8% increase as compared to the same period in 2023, ACC reported.

Sales and captive (internal) use of major plastic resins totaled 8.5 billion lbs. in November, an increase of 2.6% month-over-month, and 8.6% year-over-year. Year-to-date sales and captive use were 92.3 billion lbs., a 5.9% increase compared to the same period in 2023.
