The Canadian Trucking Alliance (CTA) is asking Canadian motor carriers to comment on issues faced by them in compiling with US federal safety regulations, according to CTA information.
A research study is underway designed to identify issues affecting the harmonization and reciprocity of United States and Canadian motor carrier safety regulations by the US Transportation Research Institute for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). While CTA has been working cooperatively with the researchers for several months, carriers are now being invited to voice concerns/comments, CTA said.
Canadian carriers can participate by completing a brief Web-based survey to identify the major issues. They also are being asked to provide comments on a key component of FMCSA’s approach to providing information to cross-border carriers in both Canada and the United States--the design of a Web site intended to serve as a one-stop resource on commercial vehicle regulation.
The Web-based survey is online at http://survey.truckline.com.
