TransWood Carriers acquires Midwest bulk carrier Kane Transport
TransWood, an Omaha NE privately-owned trucking company specializing in liquid and dry bulk transportation, recently purchased Kane Transport in Inver Grove Heights MN.
Kane is a 150-plus-truck bulk carrier that hauls petroleum products, construction, and agricultural related commodities in the upper Midwest. This addition increases TransWood’s service area, and broadens its portfolio of transportation solutions, while adding six additional locations to TransWood’s existing network of 35 locations across the country.
“Kane is a strategic addition to the TransWood family,” said Brian Wood, president of TransWood. “They mirror our longevity in the transportation industry as well our core values and commitment to safety and service. Kane’s pledge to quality, and on time service, without compromising on safety, or the environmental stewardship are major factors in this acquisition.”
Stan Meier, Transwood vice-president of sales and marketing, added: “Through this acquisition of skilled people and equipment, we can provide the additional hauling capacity of liquid bulk products to our customers in a larger service area including more capacity in core markets of the upper Midwest. We are thrilled to be able to gain so many high-quality transportation professionals, including drivers, with the same qualities of safe and caring service that our current TransWood employees pride themselves on.”
“Kane Transport is excited to continue dependable and quality services to complement TransWood’s commitment to excellence;” said Pete Kane, CEO of Kane Transport.
A family-owned nationwide hauler of bulk commodities, Transwood has been in business since 1928; steadily growing by achieving excellence through superior systems, training, and dedication which ensures TransWood will provide a level of disciplined quality service that exceeds customers’ expectations.
A third-generation owned business beginning in 1949 in Sauk Centre MN, Kane Transport has operations in Duluth, Mankato, Marshall, Minneapolis/St Paul MN, Fargo ND, and Chippewa Falls WI.
