Liquid Trucking recently established Siouxland Transloading, a new facility adjacent to the tank truck carrier’s terminal in South Sioux City, Nebraska, intended to “upgrade” the chemical supply chain in the Midwest.
Siouxland is positioned on 6 acres conveniently accessible from State Highway 20 and Interstate 29. The facility currently has one loading rack for transferring liquid products, including sulfuric acid, caustic soda, and sodium bisulfite, between tank cars and trailers, and Liquid Trucking plans to add a second rack, the company reported.
In addition to liquid transloading, the new facility features an on-site truck scale, storage warehouse, and 24-hour video surveillance for security, with proximity to local law enforcement further enhancing safety. It was designed to reduce driver wait times, allowing them to transfer product and exit within 35 minutes.
“Our goal is to create a more efficient and driver-friendly environment,” Chris Baltushis, Liquid Trucking South Sioux City terminal manager, said in a news release. “If drivers are sitting, they’re not making money. We’ve built Siouxland Transloading to get them back on the road as quickly as possible.”
Siouxland, serviced by BNSF Railway, is positioned to grow with chemical shippers by offering “unparalleled” efficiency, safety, and service, said Liquid Trucking, which also offers agricultural and food-grade bulk transportation. Expansion plans include additional racks and the ability to break down products into smaller containers.
“We are committed to adapting to our customers’ needs and ensuring their satisfaction,” Baltushis said. “With our comprehensive capabilities and strategic location, we can transload any type of product and meet the industry’s evolving demands.”
