Charles “Shorty” Whittington, president of Grammer Industries in Grammer IN, has been appointed to the Corporate Leadership Advisory Council of the US Chamber of Commerce. He is a former chairman of the American Trucking Associations and has served on the boards for the Indiana Motor Trucking Associations (IMTA), the Agricultural & Food Transporters Conference (AFTC), the National Tank Truck Carriers (NTTC), and is active in many state propane and fertilizer trade associations.
Therese M “Terry” Cirone has been named vice-president of health, environment, safety, and security of The Chlorine Institute Inc (CI). She most recently was vice-president of environmental health and safety compliance for RSR Corporation, a lead-recycling operation based in Dallas TX.
HELP Inc, a public-private partnership that provides the PrePass weigh station service that allows trucks to comply electronically with state requirements, elected these member-at-large officers to serve one-year terms: Gary Okes, Estes Express, Richmond VA; Jim Poe, Indiana Department of Revenue, Indianapolis IN; Col Terry Maple, Kansas State Patrol, Topeka KS; Don Schaefer, Mid-West Truckers Association Inc, Springfield IL; and Dave Lorenzen, Iowa Department of Transportation, Des Moines IA. These officers will continue service as executive committee members: Chairman-Larry Davis, Ohio Trucking Association, Columbus OH; Vice-Chairman-Rick Clasby, Utah DOT, Salt Lake City UT; and Secretary/Treasurer-Karen Rasmussen, Arizona Trucking Association, Phoenix AZ.
