Newly integrated TMS and navigation capabilities allow North American truck drivers to focus on the road ahead, helping boost fleet safety and efficiency

Trucker Path recently integrated its mobile app with McLeod Software’s transportation management system, allowing North American truckers to “instantly and easily” access navigation in the Trucker Path app.

“Drivers can now transition from the McLeod transportation management system to navigation in the Trucker Path app with a single tap,” Chris Oliver, Trucker Path CMO, said in a news release. “This new integrated solution with McLeod highlights our mobile and driver-first philosophy. With drivers increasingly relying on mobile devices for navigation and essential in-route live information feeds, the ease of accessing critical information with minimal effort ensures that they stay connected, informed, and can focus their attention on the road.”

The seamless flow of navigation information between the McLeod TMS and the Trucker Path app offers several benefits for drivers and fleets, Trucker Path reported, including:

  • Decreasing the need for manually inputting navigation information or toggling between applications creates a more fluid, intuitive experience for drivers, and helps enhance safety.
  • The inclusion of truck size and weight dimensions ensures proper truck routing to avoid low bridges, weight-restricted roadways, tight turns, and more, improving safety and overall route efficiency.
  • Fleet managers can send accurate, detailed, and pre-configured custom routes directly to drivers in the Trucker Path app, boosting operational efficiency and reducing fuel costs.
  • Reducing back-and-forth communication between dispatchers and drivers creates a frictionless process for both parties.

“Drivers from McLeod customer companies made it clear they need reliable commercial routes, along with easy access to fuel and parking providers,” noted Ed Noles, McLeod product manager for mobile applications. “Our partnership with Trucker Path now delivers these essential tools through McLeod’s ‘Driver Sidekick’ mobile app, sending stop details directly to Trucker Path to make navigation and trip planning easier than ever.”
