In deal with Jones Capital, Mississippi-based fuel distributor adds provider of mobile fueling tanks to the heavy construction, pipeline, and renewables industries

Fuel distributor CR Fuels recently acquired PortaBull Fuel from Jones Capital.

PortaBull, based in Purvis, Mississippi, provides fuel management solutions and equipment rentals for various heavy construction, pipeline, and renewable projects in 22 states. CR Fuels, headquartered in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, provides wholesale fuels across the Southeastern United States.

“PortaBull has been a terrific piece of our portfolio of companies, with long-tenured relationships with its blue-chip customer base and a commitment to the safety and service to customers across midstream and renewable construction and maintenance industries,” Tom Caughlin, Jones Capital president, said in a news release.

“We wish them continued success and growth as part of CR Fuels.”

Under the leadership of Jones Capital and its partners, PortaBull evolved into one of the country’s largest fuel solutions providers for the midstream pipeline industry. Leveraging its expertise in equipment rentals, PortaBull expanded its fleet of “state-of-the-art” mobile fueling tanks to meet growing demand while continuously introducing design and technological innovations that enhanced value, helping customers in remote areas overcome complex logistical challenges, Jones Capital reported.

“Jones Capital extends its gratitude to the PortaBull team for their dedication and performance during our ownership,” the company added. “We are pleased to have found in CR Fuels a buyer who recognizes the value of PortaBull Fuels’ operations and is committed to its continued success.”
