G&D Integrated plans to celebrate National Truck Driver Appreciation Week (NTDAW) Sept 8-14 with a series of cookouts, giveaways and luncheons for its 400 professional truck drivers.
NTDAW, backed by the American Trucking Associations (ATA), is an annual event intended to highlight the contributions of the 3.5 million truck drivers who are moving America forward by safely and securely delivering freight.
“G&D has been providing transportation since the 1880s and I believe in and support our drivers,” said Joseph O’Neill, president and CEO at G&D Integrated. “I drove a truck myself years ago and I love working with our drivers and talking with them every week.”
The country’s truck drivers, delivering everything from food to local grocery stores, to books for neighborhood schools, log close to 724 billion miles annually. In 2018, these professional men and women delivered 70% of US freight tonnage, which equaled 10.77 billion tons, and 80% of US communities depend solely on the trucking industry for their goods and communities, according to the ATA.
“G&D Integrated asks you to take this week to recognize the significant contributions of our professional truck drivers,” the company said. “The efficiency and safety that these drivers guarantee allow businesses and American citizens to confidently ship goods across state lines and to every corner of the country.”
