John Walsh was named vice-president of marketing for Mack Trucks Inc, effective December 1. Since February 2007, he has served as director-media and public relations. Walsh will continue to be based in Greensboro NC at Mack world headquarters. He succeeds Michael Reardon, who in July was named Mack vice-president-sales.
Cummins Inc announced that Jim Lyons has been named vice-president-chief manufacturing officer. In addition, he will be in charge of Cummins' Health, Safety, and Environmental organization. Lyons has 38 years of experience with Cummins, most recently as president of Cummins Turbo Technologies (CTT).
The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company has named Mark Pillow director of business solutions, Goodyear Commercial Tire Systems. He reports directly to Joe Copeland, vice-president, Goodyear Commercial Tire Systems. A 25-year Goodyear veteran, Pillow most recently served as director of commercial systems and off-highway tires for Goodyear Canada Inc, a role he assumed in 2007.
Zonar has added Chris Hines as executive vice-president. Based in Seattle WA, he will report to Brett Brinton, Zonar president and chief executive officer. Hines most recently served as president and chief operating officer of the Celadon Group.
Reyco Granning's Powered Vehicle group has added two senior project engineers, Michael Buis and Eric Lagerstrom. Before joining the company, Buis, who will focus primarily on drive axle applications, most recently spent five years at a vacuum and blower system manufacturer as a product engineer. Lagerstrom, who will focus mainly on independent front suspension applications, worked as senior manufacturing engineer for a US trailer manufacturer. Sarah Rogers will serve Reyco Granning as marketing specialist after 10 years in marketing and project management for higher education and non-profit organizations. Bill Simmons is returning after a few years away from the company. Formerly a district sales manager, he will now focus on field service and warranty.
Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC has named three employees to new roles. Dave Schultz will serve as the director of marketing and strategic pricing; Marylou Hornung was named director of sales operations; Barbara Gould will serve as director of communications. Schultz has been with Bendix for eight years, most recently as aftermarket marketing manager. Hornung, previously the sales support manager for Bendix, has been with the company for 23 years. Formerly manager of communications, Gould has been with the company for 10 years.
