The Kenan Advantage Group (KAG) recently acquired Florida Food Tankers (FFT).
The Lake Wales, Florida-based company, founded in 1993, specializes in intrastate bulk food transportation and logistics, primarily of citrus juices in Florida.
The acquisition expands KAG’s liquid food delivery footprint in Florida, along with significantly strengthening its citrus juice end market business, the company said. At the Lake Wales location, FFT operates a two-bay tank wash facility and a maintenance shop, bringing a total of 17 tank wash facilities within the KAG Food Products’ operations.
“Building upon KAG’s continued diversification efforts, the expansion is another example of KAG partnering with a high-quality organization to deliver products which are essential to our economy,” KAG reported in a web post.
According to FFT’s website, the carrier is an allied member of the Florida Citrus Processors Association, follows Juice Products Association (JPA) guidelines and protocols for food-grade washes, and is Smartway certified by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
Equipment includes DOT 407 food-grade sanitary tankers with 304 stainless steel and satellite communications and tracking capabilities.
