Nebraska-based hauler of cryogenic and specialty gasses expands into agricultural sector with addition of liquid fertilizer transporter in Hastings

LGT Transport, a transporter of cryogenic and specialty gasses, recently closed on its acquisition of Jason Thomas Trucking.

Based in Hastings, Neb., Jason Thomas is a “well-respected and hard-working” provider of liquid fertilizer transportation in the Midwest, LGT said.

LGT, headquartered in Omaha, has expanded its services in recent years, adding delivery of anhydrous ammonia and liquid propane. Now the company is looking forward to growing in the agricultural sector through the Jason Thomas acquisition.

“We are honored to continue the legacy of Jason Thomas and expand our network of business operations,” said Pam Spaccarotella, CEO and founder of LGT, which started in 2012 with five cryogenic trailers and five drivers. “Jason Thomas Trucking shares our same commitment to drivers and customers.

“We believe together we will create an even greater extended offering for our customers.”

As part of the acquisition, Jason Thomas drivers and operational employees are joining the LGT team. LGT also acquired eight tractors and 11 trailers in the deal. The Jason Thomas team will continue to operate out of Hastings to maintain an ideal location for current and future customers of liquid fertilizer transportation, LGT said.
