MAC Trailer Enterprises recently updated its 1000 cube pneumatic tank trailer to meet evolving customer requirements, including lowering the overall height and improving weight distribution, while maintaining the trailer’s full capacity.
“These improvements make a major difference in the long-term life of the trailer and the everyday life of the customer,” said Ken Butler, director of dry bulk pneumatic tank products at MAC Trailer. “The 1000 cube is a popular trailer solution for hauling sand, cement, and non-food-grade powders. Producing these trailers in our Salem, Ohio, and Haslet, Texas, facilities allows us to better serve customers no matter where they are located.”
The 1000 cube, originally released in 2020, was lowered by more than 5 in. as part of the recent product updates, MAC Trailer said. This almost 6-in. decrease in height allows the trailer to better fit under pre-existing agricultural loading structures. The improved weight distribution in the latest design allows trucks from 17,000 lbs. to 21,000 lbs. to haul the trailer, providing a wider range of in the types of trucks that can pair with it. A bolt-on 16-in. to 49-in. adjustable coupler is included to adjust the kingpin closer or further to the truck for additional weight distribution. A galvanized sliding fifth wheel plate also can be spec’d to further accommodate specific trucks and their hauling requirements.
“The 1000 cube, along with all trailer designs, are rigorously tested at the MAC Trailer R&D facility, where they are proven to withstand the elements and the day-to-day working conditions throughout both the U.S. and Canada,” said Scott Kibler, director of engineering at MAC Trailer. “These tests are done to identify the strengths and longevity of the trailer using real-life scenarios.
“All 1000 cube trailers have been outfitted with these updates, and they are available for purchase immediately.”
Michael A. Conny founded MAC Trailer in 1994 as a one-man operation repairing wrecked trailers in a single-bay garage, the company said. Now it’s one of the nation’s foremost manufacturers of commercial trailers in North America, with more than 1.8 million sq. ft. of facilities on campuses totaling over 600 acres. Each MAC Trailer facility specializes in a different product line and is outfitted with advanced fabrication and manufacturing equipment.
