Tremcar, which this year is celebrating its 60th anniversary, now is using virtual reality to conduct remote tours of its tank trailer manufacturing facilities in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu and Saint Césaire, Quebec, Canada.
The company said its new marketing tool also will aid in workforce recruitment.
“It’s in the innovation and details that we stand out,” said Daniel Tremblay, president of Tremcar. “Getting people to visit our facility is unheard of. Now people from Texas, Indiana, and elsewhere in the United States can visit our facilities without having to travel.”
“We know what it’s like to start a business and we have a penchant for young companies that want to move forward with us, and who can fully understand our market and what we manufacture,” Tremcar said.
With virtual tours, prospective employees can visit Tremcar’s workplaces before they apply, and customers who can’t travel because they’re still feeling the affects of the pandemic can visit without leaving home.
The company says it also is working on other digital projects for training and marketing purposes.
“We don’t sell shoes—we sell tank trailers that cost thousands of dollars,” Tremcar said. “Our daily challenge is to demonstrate the added value of buying a Tremcar instead of the competition.”
