Kentucky Trailer is merging the animal feed transportation businesses of subsidiaries CEI Pacer and Warren Manufacturing under a new brand name—KT Pacer, a Kentucky Trailer company.
The manufacturer said the move strengthens its position in the market, making it one of the largest feed transport solution companies in North America, while honoring the industry name recognition of Kentucky Trailer and CEI Pacer.
“The new name is familiar yet fresh, an embodiment of our combined company,” said KT Pacer management members Dan McDowell, Jim Ross and Jim Stoelk.
“Both CEI Pacer and Warren Manufacturing have a rich history in the industry. Together, we’re leveraging our experience and taking a forward-thinking approach to be the best in the world at design, build and service solutions.”
Kentucky Trailer, which is a subsidiary of Alleghany Capital Corporation, is a manufacturer of custom trailers, truck bodies and mobilized workplace solutions.
In December 2018, Kentucky Trailer entered the feed transportation market through the acquisition of CEI Pacer, headquartered in Cedar Rapids IA. Kentucky expanded its footprint in the industry with the acquisition of Warren’s animal feed transport division assets in Birmingham AL in July 2019.
“Bringing these two companies under the KT Pacer umbrella means more manufacturing efficiencies and capacity for our customers,” said Gary A Smith Sr, Kentucky Trailer’s president and CEO. “We believe in KT Pacer’s industry-leading products, and we’re excited to be able to continue to position them for substantial future growth.”
Manufacturing operations for KT Pacer will continue in both Iowa and Alabama, the company said, adding it expects to combine more processes and operations as it continues to identify synergies.
