A conference to prepare for the launch of diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) has been scheduled June 4-5 in Nashville TN by the Petroleum Equipment Institute (PEI) and NATSO, which represents travel plazas and truckstops.
The conference will include a full day workshop June 5 with sessions focusing on how DEF will be handled, stored, dispensed, and marketed. Another session will focus on DEF rollout in Europe three years ago.
Beginning in January 2010, diesel exhaust fluid will be required for the exhaust systems on most new diesel trucks, which will utilize selective catalytic reduction as an emissions control technology. DEF is urea-based mixture which is specially formulated for use in the new emissions systems.
The conference at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel will kick off with a reception June 4. For more information, telephone PEI at 918-494-9696.
