Sunoco Inc. has announced the winners of its 2007 Carrier of the Year awards. The recognition program, now entering its seventh year, is based on a scoring system that encompasses carrier performance in key areas such as safety, service, and customer satisfaction.
Carrier safety performance is based on accident and spill rates, as well as compliance with facility guidelines. Service performance is determined by load acceptance, on-time pick-up and delivery, short lead time shipments, late ETA notification, and excess volume coverage. Customer satisfaction evaluation criteria include customer complaint frequency, claims experience, and internal customer surveys.
