Vigillo LLC announced the availability of its new CSA Benchmark Scorecards. The new Benchmark Scorecards, provided at no additional cost, allow fleets to compare safety scores of their operations to other similar motor carriers.
These scorecards will enable customers to access summary data from the Vigillo customer database and allow fleets to compare their operations to selected groupings of carriers without divulging customer-specific information. Carriers can choose from more than 45 specific measures for comparison, including measures across BASICs, points by driver, points by power unit, points per inspection, violation categories, and geographic.
CSA, set to take effect in autumn 2010, is a new system of measuring fleet safety that will be the basis for regulating and enforcing safe driving and operating practices. The more comprehensive enforcement and compliance model with built-in and automatic intervention levels covers Unsafe Driving, Fatigued Driving (Hours-of-Service), Driver Fitness, Controlled Substances/Alcohol, Vehicle Maintenance, Cargo-Related, and Crash Indicator categories.
The CSA Carrier & Driver Scorecard from Vigillo provides trucking companies with an advance look at their fleet safety data that will be included in the new Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration program. It uses the same carrier and driver data applied to FMCSA’s CSA methodologies to produce the same measures that will be used when CSA takes effect, and presents them accurately in an easy-to-understand and actionable Scorecard format.
