Atomic Transport recently acquired Apache Junction, Arizona-based Modern Transport Solutions, which provides transfer services and bulk-material transport in multiple markets in Arizona and Colorado.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
“The acquisition of Modern Transport immediately enhances our ability to service our existing customers with nationwide footprints more capably,” Shayne McCallie, Atomic president and CEO, said in a news release. “Modern’s commitment to safety and service fit the culture we have built at Atomic. We are pleased to welcome Scott Sunderland, a longtime executive in the waste-transport and trucking industry prior to his ownership of Modern, and his team members into the Atomic family.”
Modern is Atomic’s first acquisition since the company’s founding in 2015.
Private-equity firm J.F. Lehman & Company acquired Chattanooga, Tennessee-based Atomic through an investment affiliate last month.
“This acquisition is representative of the strategic opportunity before Atomic to add to our consistent organic growth with M&A-driven expansion,” said Mike McCallie, Atomic senior director.
