March 18, 2025
Publicly traded Canadian firm adds EnTrans International to its family of leading tank trailer and bobtail manufacturers, which includes Mississippi Tank Company and Advance Engineered Products.

Engineered Transportation International CEO Ryan Rockafellow is excited about the company’s new era.

Canadian firm TerraVest Industries, a publicly traded manufacturer of transportation equipment, this week announced its acquisition of the Heil Trailer and Polar Tank Trailer parent in a transaction intended to expand manufacturing capabilities, increase operational efficiencies, and enhance service offerings to the specialty transport sector in North America.

“This partnership represents a significant strategic alignment for EnTrans and TerraVest, paving the way for numerous opportunities that will drive sustainable growth for our businesses,” Rockafellow told Bulk Transporter.

“By combining our strengths, we will harness complementary capabilities and resources that enhance our operational efficiencies and market reach.”

Private-equity company American Industrial Partners acquired Heil, the oldest U.S. tank trailer manufacturer, in 2011 and formed EnTrans, which is headquartered in Athens, Tennessee, in 2014. Today, the EnTrans umbrella also includes Jarco, which makes LPG bobtail trucks, and Kalyn Siebert, a manufacturer of heavy-haul trailers.

TerraVest, based in Toronto, Ontario, serves mission-critical sectors, including petroleum, chemical, food-grade, and cryogenic transportation and storage. Its brands include Mississippi Tank Company, Advance Engineered Products, Maxfield, Pro-Par, and Signature Truck Systems.

“With its strong portfolio of products and established market presence, Engineered Transportation International is highly complementary to our existing businesses,” TerraVest CEO Dustin Haw said in a news release. “We look forward to leveraging our combined strengths to drive further growth and innovation while continuing to provide best-in-class solutions to our customers.”

The companies say customers also will benefit from strong aftermarket support and improved supply chain capabilities.

“This collaboration will not only deepen our foothold in existing markets but also unlock new avenues for innovation and expansion,” Rockafellow continued. “Together, we are poised to deliver enhanced value to our customers and stakeholders, elevating our positions as leaders in our respective industries.”

The acquisition aligns with TerraVest’s strategy of strengthening its presence in key markets while continuing to invest in industry-leading products and services.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

“Engineered Transportation International has built a strong reputation by delivering high- performance solutions to customers across the world,” Rockafellow concluded. “This partnership allows us to build on that success by expanding our capabilities, growing our product offerings, and strengthening our commitment to delivering industry-leading transportation solutions.”
