R&R Receives First Kenworth T600 Equipped With SureShift and Studio AeroCab Sleeper
ZF Meritor LLC, a joint venture between ArvinMeritor and ZF Friedrichshafen, has announced delivery of the first Kenworth heavy-duty truck equipped with a ZF Meritor SureShift transmission and the Studio AeroCab Sleeper, to R&R Transportation of Audubon MN.
R&R Transportation will receive SureShift automated transmissions in each of its five Kenworth T600 models, now available with Studio AeroCab Sleeper. These vehicles, operated by teams, will log more than 300,000 miles a year in 48 United States, pulling reefers, dry vans, and flatbeds.
ZF Meritor's SureShift is in full production as optional equipment through Kenworth North American dealers when specified with any nine- or 10-speed ZF Meritor transmission, and is compatible with any electronically controlled engine using the SAE J-1939 data link.
The SureShift transmission is paired with a seat-mounted control system available on Kenworth trucks. The ergonomic design of the seat-mounted system was created to keep the shift lever at the driver's fingertips while providing greater access and mobility within the Kenworth cab. Drivers simply push a joystick forward for upshifts and pull back for downshifts.
