The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has extended its regional emergency declaration to October 5, 2005, for carriers and drivers hauling gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, propane, natural gas/compressed natural gas, and ethanol. Carriers hauling these products to and from the Eastern Region are exempt from 49 CFR Parts 390-399.
Carriers and drivers are not exempt from drug and alcohol testing requirements and CDL licensing requirements. All drivers and motor carriers operating under this exemption must have a copy of the newly-revised declaration in their possession.
