CHEP has launched the CHEP Unicon Intermediate Bulk Container (IBC) system in the Americas, Europe, and Asia.
The CHEP IBC program is established in Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa, and by establishing an IBC program in its other existing markets, CHEP is providing manufacturers and suppliers with a standard global system for intermediate bulk container shipments domestically and internationally.
Liquid ingredients/raw materials in the food and non-food industries traditionally have been transported in 55-gallon drums, company-owned IBCs, or single-trip/limited-life IBCs. Ingredient and raw material suppliers have long desired to improve total supply chain cost with an effective container management system. The CHEP IBC program is designed to meet this need.
The Unicon IBC measures 46.06" long x 43.31'' wide x 43.43'' high when in use and can be folded 3:1 for relocation. It offers a 275 (US)-gallon (1,040-liter) capacity and a range of design features that simplify use and minimize product residue.
Additional Unicon manufacturing capacity has been secured in the Americas and Europe to support growth of IBC pools.
