After acquiring Acro Trailer Company late last year, Semo Tank/Baker Equipment Company, Perryville, Missouri, is enhancing its services throughout its operations. The Acro facility, Springfield, Missouri, will be expanded and continue to operate under its name.

"The acquisition was finalized through congenial efforts of both parties that resulted in a smooth transition," says Bob Baker, Semo president. "The previous owners, along with some dedicated Acro employees contributed to what ultimately was in the best interest of the company, its employees, and customers."

When the Acro repair expansion is completed, the Semo affiliate, Rogersville Tank Repair, will relocate to Springfield. Semo will continue to operate from the home office in Perryville, and also from its other affiliate, Gator Tank Trailer, Ocala, Florida.

Wayne Roderick has been named plant manager for Acro, and David Rohr will remain sales manager. Roderick had managerial duties at the Rogersville facility, and served as the company engineer for all three Semo locations. Roderick and Rohr each have over 35 years experience in the tank trailer industry.

"Combining a practical-minded engineering and manufacturing approach, along with a reputation for fairness, diverse equipment knowledge, and detail to customer satisfaction should prove well for Semo and Acro alike," says Baker.

Acro will continue to manufacture chemical, hazardous materials vacuum, non-code, and acid tank trailers. With the Semo affiliation in place, operations will provide customers additional services of repair, testing, parts, used equipment, and leasing.

"Combining Semo's 25-year history with the 41 years of Acro's respected manufacturing capabilities consummates a great merger of tank truck manufacturing and repair experience," says Baker.
