MAC Liquid Tank Trailer (LTT) is expanding its stainless-steel division.
The tank trailer subsidiary of MAC Trailer Enterprises recently purchased a facility situated on 15.85 acres in Mt. Pleasant, Mich., where it plans to invest $10 million—including $7 million in New Market Tax Credits—to develop a 105,000-square-foot production center with office space to meet the company’s growing needs.
The facility is located about 150 miles northwest of Detroit at 1799 Gover Parkway.
“The Michigan expansion is an important step forward in the diversification of the MAC LTT product offerings,” said Matt Niemeier, vice president of MAC LTT. “We will focus on the production of tank trailers designed for the transport of dairy, foodgrade and chemical commodities.” The other MAC LTT production facilities located in Kent, Ohio, and Billings, Mont., specialize in the production of tank trailers and truck-mounted tanks designed for the transport of petroleum, petro-chemicals, crude oil and asphalt.
The expansion of MAC LTT’s stainless division will provide nearly 100 jobs in the Mt. Pleasant area, the company said, retaining current positions and adding to the roster to better its production capacity, as well as contribute to the area’s need for jobs. “(The) MAC LTT stainless division is focused on healthy growth in our Mt. Pleasant operation,” said Jim Maiorana, president of MAC LTT. “We are eager to expand employment opportunities in Michigan with this project made possible with the support from Michigan Community Capital, PNC, and Huntington Bank.”
“The success of MAC Trailer can be attributed to our quality trailers built by hard-working people,” Conny said. “Our experienced and knowledgeable sales staff, partnered with an authorized dealer network, promote our trailers across North America. Our philosophy is to learn from our customers and pursue continuous improvement through strong leadership, while providing added value, and outstanding products.”
