Westmor Industries, a manufacturer of petroleum and liquid handling equipment, recently completed engineering and production work on its largest-capacity LP bobtail. The new unit will be put to work by FCA Co-op, a propane distributor with several locations throughout southern Minnesota.

The larger vessel, which will average almost 1,500 more gallons per load than a 5,000-gallon unit, was requested by the cooperative to promote driver and truck efficiency throughout its large, mostly rural territory. The 6,700-gallon-capacity Westmor bobtail can also reduce the number of bulk storage plants required to service similar-size territories.

Inside its 100,000-square-foot manufacturing facility, Westmor designs, fabricates, and assembles a line of bobtails up to 6,700-gallon capacity. The units are built with welded piping to reduce opportunities for leaks, and welded decking packages also increase longevity. The Westmor production team received continuing education to stay certified by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).
