Peterbilt Motors Company received three prestigious Manufacturing Leadership Awards from Frost & Sullivan’s Manufacturing Leadership Council in the areas of Operational Excellence Leadership. Peterbilt received awards for Test Flow Improvement and Truck Assembly Process Efficiency, with the latter also receiving a Higher Achiever award.

The Manufacturing Leadership Awards honor a wide range of leading companies throughout many industries. Peterbilt has won nine of the awards over the past three years.

“Peterbilt is proud to again be recognized for our ongoing initiatives to increase operational efficiencies and optimize our manufacturing processes while continuing to build the industry’s highest quality trucks,” said Darrin Siver, Peterbilt general manager and PACCAR vice-president. “Peterbilt continues to set higher standards through advanced technologies, groundbreaking innovations and a collaborative working environment.”

The Manufacturing Leadership and Higher Achiever awards for Truck Assembly Process Efficiency recognized Peterbilt’s plant-wide initiative to streamline multiple stages of its manufacturing process. “That program resulted in record daily production while increasing assembly flexibility, reducing waste and improving overall manufacturing efficiency,” said Leon Handt, Peterbilt’s assistant general manager of operations.

The Test Flow Improvement project optimized truck testing and validation processes for greater volume, recognizing Peterbilt’s focus on producing the highest quality in the industry.
