Eaton brings 430mm clutches to North America

Feb. 3, 2016

Power management company Eaton, North America’s leading supplier of medium- and heavy-duty commercial clutches, has expanded its extensive portfolio with the addition of a new aftermarket clutch for Volvo I-Shift automated transmissions. The Eaton 430mm Push Wear-Thru clutch will be competitively priced and include the same quality engineering and manufacturing features of the company’s aftermarket line of EverTough clutches.

Eaton has been selling various versions of 430mm clutch products in other regions of the world for both manual and automated applications since 2000.

Designed for longevity and to extend the life of later life-cycle trucks, the Eaton Push Wear-Thru clutch with organic facings will initially be offered in 232mm and 254mm damper sizes. It will be available through all OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers) dealerships and Master Warehouse Distributors and joins Eaton’s popular Factory Direct program that allows for discounted pricing when mixed or matched with other Eaton aftermarket clutches.

The soft rate damper design has proven effective in lowering harmful vibrations to reduce downtime and extend the life of transmission synchronizers and other driveline components. Cushioned organic facings promote smooth engagements.

“These clutches will bring the trucking industry a valuable alternative to current I-Shift replacement offerings,” said Monica Metty, aftermarket marketing manager, Eaton. “Similar to all Eaton branded truck components, the clutches will receive the same industry-best Roadranger driveline support throughout the NAFTA market.”

Made with all new components to meet OEM quality and durability standards, Eaton 430mm clutches also feature the proven technology of a high-strength stamped steel bracket, robust diaphragm design and premium organic driven disc facings. The clutches are maintenance-free, adjustment-free and lubed for life, which reduces service time and saves money for users.

The Eaton 430mm Push Wear-Thru clutch will be available for customer delivery in March of this year.
