Diesel fuel price advances for fourth week in a row

The average price of a gallon of diesel fuel nationwide rose for a fourth consecutive week, climbing 2 cents to $2.924 a gallon, according to US Department of Energy information

The average price of a gallon of diesel fuel nationwide rose for a fourth consecutive week, climbing 2 cents to $2.924 a gallon, according to US Department of Energy information.

Diesel has now risen 16.8 cents in the past month, after falling 12.3 cents in the previous five weeks. The most recent gain left trucking’s main fuel 90.7 cents over the same week in 2009.

At $3.065 per gallon, California’s diesel price was higher than all the regional averages. This price was up $1.016 from the same week in 2009. Regions with the lowest price for diesel were the Lower Atlantic and Midwest, with an average price for both at $2.895 per gallon.
