Dana Holding Corp and Accuride Corp recently received Masters of Quality Awards from Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA), the highest honor for suppliers to the commercial vehicle manufacturer.

Dana’s manufacturing facility in Lima OH was recognized for its commitment to quality, delivery, technology, and cost performance. Accuride’s Henderson steel wheel plant in Henderson KY and the Accuride de Mexico steel and aluminum wheel plant in Monterrey, Mexico, both received the award for their 2014 performance. This is the 11th such award for the Henderson plant and the fourth award for Accuride de Mexico.

Dana supplies DTNA with a complete range of drive axles, steers axles, driveshafts, and Spicer Central Tire Inflation System components for the commercial vehicle industry, all backed by Dana’s best-in-class standard warranties and extended warranty coverage. Dana also offers top-tier Spicer aftermarket products and the expert support fleet managers need to maximize the performance of their vehicles.

“We understand the importance of manufacturing and supplying top-quality components in order to move the industry forward,” said Mark Wallace, executive vice-president of Dana and group president of Dana’s On-Highway Driveline Technologies. “This show of support and confidence from DTNA is a testament to our evolving relationship with a manufacturer we’ve been working with for more than fifteen years. Together, we will carry on our shared commitment to delivering safe, high-quality, durable, and serviceable vehicles.”

Accuride’s Henderson Operations provides steel wheels to all DTNA US plants for Freightliner applications. The Accuride de Mexico steel and aluminum wheel facility in Monterrey supplies steel wheels to DTNA’s Saltillo and Santiago, Mexico, facilities, and the Daimler bus plant in Monterrey.

“Accuride is honored by our plants’ continued performance as Masters of Quality facilities by Daimler Trucks North America for dedicated service to its assembly operations,” said Rick Dauch, Accuride president and chief executive officer. “Our Henderson and Monterrey associates deeply appreciate Daimler’s recognition of their consistent performance on the metrics that matter to DTNA, and their efforts to help the company meet its business goals. Accuride’s dedication to delivering world-class operating performance on quality, delivery, lead times and other key metrics is supported by our consistent lean manufacturing and quality systems that drive continuous improvement across our operations.”

The annual Masters of Quality Awards Award program now in its 28th year recognizes outstanding suppliers that have received high scores on their quality, delivery, technology and cost performance as measured on a Balanced Scorecard. These suppliers demonstrate an on-going commitment to continuously improving the quality of their products and overall performance of their businesses.
