Cathy F Gautreaux of the Louisiana Motor Transport Association received the Truck Renting and Leasing Association’s inaugural State Trucking Award during the association’s 2016 Annual Meeting.
Gautreaux has been on the LMTA staff for 31 years and has been the executive director for the past 28 years. She is active on numerous boards and committees on a state and national level and serves as a liaison with various regulatory agencies as LMTA's official representative.
"We're very excited to honor such a long-standing friend and colleague with this award," said TRALA President and CEO Jake Jacoby. "This is the first of what will become an annual tradition to recognize a state trucking executive who demonstrates leadership while partnering with TRALA to take on challenging legislative issues."
Gautreaux represents LMTA during all legislative sessions as a registered lobbyist. Throughout the year she also offers technical support and advice to members. She serves as the editor of the association's Open Road newsletter, weekly Truck Talk and LEGISLATIVE BULLETIN while handling all aspects of management of the association.
Gautreaux is a past national chairman of the Trucking Association Executives' Council (TAEC), which is comprised of staff executives of all 50 state trucking associations.
