At the end of the term of the lease, Watco has the option to take ownership of the real estate. Rail access is provided by RJCC short line operated by RJ Corman, which interchanges with the CSX in Louisville and Winchester KY and the Norfolk Southern in Lexington KY.

River Road Terminals has been owned by Paul Buddeke for over 40 years. “The River Road Terminal will be a great addition to the Watco network and I look forward to the value I know the Watco team will bring to the terminal’s team and great customers,” he said.

Will Patterson, WATCO senior vice-president of marketing and sales, said: “We look forward to working with the great customers who utilize River Road Terminal today and continuing to provide solutions to their logistical needs. This adds a third terminal in the Louisville/Jeffersonville area for Watco and serves to diversify the commodities and industries we serve.”
