April 7, 2015

US Oil, the petroleum and renewable energy distribution division of US Venture Inc. announced the acquisition a Milwaukee area terminal from Marathon Petroleum Corporation, based in Findlay OH. The terminal, located at 9125 North 107th Street will add 530,000 barrels of capacity to the US Oil network and will expand its distribution network to 20 terminals.

US Oil owns and operates strategically-located terminals in Milwaukee, Green Bay, Chippewa Falls and Madison WI; Cheboygan and Rogers City MI; Bettendorf IA; and Houston, Fort Worth, and Bryan TX. This creates a north to south network served by the Explorer, Magellan, and WestShore pipelines and also provides Great Lakes and Mississippi River barge access with multiple rail facilities. Plans are underway to upgrade technologies at the Milwaukee area facility.

This acquisition strengthens US Oil’s relationship with Marathon Petroleum Corporation and its customers. “With this acquisition we will continue to service our customers through distribution, wholesale, branded and logistics businesses,” said Mike Koel, vice-president of business development for US Oil. “We look forward to continuing the relationships already in place while expanding our customer base.”

John S Swearingen, senior vice-president, transportation and logistics, Marathon Petroleum Corporation, said: “US Oil has an excellent reputation in terminal operations and management. We expect the transition to go smoothly.”
