The International Liquid Terminals Association (ILTA) has invited its terminal member companies to participate in the 2015 Safety Survey and Recognition Program. Survey responses and Platinum Award applications are due by the close of business on Tuesday, March 3, 2015.
The ILTA 2015 Terminal Member Safety Survey solicits reportable incident rate data from terminal facilities. ILTA’s survey is based on annual facility responses to OSHA Form 300A, which businesses must post by February 1. In addition, survey participants are asked to report the total number of recordable contractor injuries sustained at their facility during 2014.
ILTA also requests respondents to estimate the proportion of their annual facility labor that was provided by contractors in 2014. This data will be used as a general gauge for contractor safety performance within the terminal industry.
All information submitted will remain confidential. By participating, company management will receive the resulting report profiling terminal industry safety performance. Companies can use this report in benchmarking safety performance against other terminal operators.
All survey submissions will be automatically considered for ILTA’s Ninth Annual Safety Recognition Program. For recognition purposes, each participating company is categorized as “large” or “small” based on its workforce size. For 2015, the threshold between these categories has been increased to better reflect the current median size of ILTA’s terminal membership.
Companies that meet basic performance criteria and submit a Platinum Award Application will also be considered for the ILTA Platinum Safety Award. Terminal companies that demonstrate exemplary performance in advancing employee safety and health during 2014 will be honored during ILTA’s 35th Annual Operating Conference and Trade Show in Houston TX on June 2, 2015.
