Spicer AdvanTEK 40 chosen award finalist

Dana Holding Corporation announced that its Spicer AdvanTEK 40 tandem axle has been selected as a finalist for the 2014 Automotive News PACE Awards, marking the third consecutive year a Dana technology has been so honored.

The PACE Awards recognize suppliers for superior innovation, technological advancement, and business performance.  Dana’s AdvanTEK 40 Tandem Axle was selected among 34 finalists for the awards.

This new 40,000-lb tandem axle for a variety of Class 8 applications features a design that increases fuel economy, improves reliability, reduces vehicle weight, and decreases total ownership costs.

The Spicer AdvanTEK 40 axle delivers operating savings through features including an axle ratio of 2.26:1, lower axle weight, optimum interaxle driveline angles, and reduced lubrication quantity.

In 2013, Dana earned a PACE Award for its Spicer Diamond Series driveshaft, a one-piece driveshaft that combines aluminum and steel to reduce weight up to 40%. In 2012, Dana received the PACE Innovative Partnership Award with Ford Motor Co for its Long active and passive warm-up units, which improve fuel efficiency up to 4%.

Dana has received four PACE Awards since the program’s inception, including the inaugural year.
