Oil Purification Systems (OPS) announced that The National Association of Environmental Professionals (NAEP) has selected the OPS-1 onboard oil refining system as the 2009 Best Available Environmental Technology. NAEP selected the OPS-1 system based on its ability to help fleet owners reduce oil consumption, cut oil maintenance costs by as much as 80%, and extend equipment life while also minimizing negative effects to the environment.

NAEP recognized OPS' contribution in the effort to decrease America's dependence on oil. Customers implementing OPS' fluid cleaning technology run more than 120,000 miles between oil changes and save thousands of dollars a year in oil maintenance costs. Broad adoption of the OPS technology could decrease national oil consumption by close to 2 billion barrels per year, while global adoption could cut consumption by many times that amount.

The Best Available Environmental Technology award was presented to OPS at NAEP's Annual Conference in Scottsdale AZ recently.
