Intellicheck Mobilisa wins $220K TWIC Reader contract for Port of New Orleans

Sept. 17, 2014

Intellicheck Mobilisa Inc, a developer of identity solutions and wireless security systems, has been awarded a $220,000 contract to provide its IM2610 TWIC Plus readers to the Port of New Orleans in Louisiana. The new contract is for a web-hosted TWIC card reading system.

The readers will provide Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC) authentication and BOLO (“Be On the Lookout”) checks.

In July 2013, Intellicheck Mobilisa’s IM2610 and IM2620 products became the first mobile readers of TWIC cards to be approved by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). The two TWIC reader products passed TSA’s rigorous testing and are officially on the Qualified Technology List (QTL) of approved products.

In addition to reading TWIC cards, these products scan driver’s licenses and military IDs, can match person-of-interest lookups with law enforcement lists and authorized lists, and are capable of integrating with existing port security systems.
