Alcoa Wheel and Transportation Products has rolled out the latest addition to its new LvL ONE line, the 24.5" LvL ONE wheel. This wheel ups the ante as the strongest wheel in the 24.5" × 8.25" standard wheel category with a load rating of 7,850 pounds — 450 pounds more than steel alternatives and weighing 30 pounds less.

Tim Myers, who recently was promoted to president of Alcoa Wheel and Transportation Products, said, “In getting the strongest standard wheel available to work with load range ‘H’ tires, fleets as well as owner-operators can use the fuel savings from pulling 540 fewer pounds — 35% less than standard steel wheels — on an 18-wheel rig.”

Designed for working trucks and vocational, construction, and over-the-road trailers, the 24.5" LvL ONE wheel's lighter weight represents a savings of millions of pounds when calculating mile after mile, and day after day, over the life of a truck or trailer. Along with using less fuel, the lighter vehicle creates lower emissions and translates into less stress on tires, brakes, engines, and drivetrains.

“Our exclusive dual-side clean buff finish makes the 24.5" LvL ONE much brighter than any competitive aluminum wheel in its class,” said Myers. “It also eliminates single-side, double-wheel ordering, reducing inventory as the 24.5" LvL ONE can be mounted on any standard tractor or trailer axle position.”
