OPW Fueling Components, a division of Dover Corporation under the Dover Fluid Management business segment, announces the supply of more than 130 VaporSaver 1 units for use by oil companies in China. The units were purchased in an effort to improve air quality in advance of the 2008 Beijing Olympics, which are scheduled to begin August 8, 2008.

The VaporSaver 1 is a tank-pressure-management system that uses state-of-the-art membrane technology to stop harmful, ozone-causing gasoline vapors from escaping into the air during fueling or product deliveries. It returns these vapors to the underground gasoline storage tanks as valuable fuel. In fact, OPW estimates that a service station pumping 200,000 gallons of gasoline per month may save nearly 500 gallons of gasoline each month by using a VaporSaver 1.

Other features of the VaporSaver 1 include:

  • Works at sites with no vapor-recovery requirements

  • Works with Stage 1 and/or Stage II vapor-recovery systems

  • Has a user-friendly PLC-based user interface

  • Stores daily run times in minutes for 365 days

  • Stores the past 50 alarm/system reset events

  • Easy to use with remote communications capability (RS-232)

  • Has serial printer capability (RS-232)

  • A clean-air vent monitored by a hydrocarbon sensor
