United Petroleum Transports presents Professionalism Awards

United Petroleum Transports (UPT) named John Thurman UPT’s “2013 Professional Driver of the Year,” according to Greg Price, President and CEO.

“In just five years John has honed his skills as a bulk transporter,” Price said. “He safely demonstrated an exceptional mastery of professional skills which helped earn the coveted title. As a retired Marine, John brings to our industry the extraordinary character, positive attitude and self-confidence he developed while serving our Country. We congratulate John, his wonderful wife, Lucretia, and their two children on this incredible achievement.”

For more than five years Thurman has been an outstanding representative for UPT and has safely logged over 380,000 million miles. With over 15 years’ experience he willingly shares his knowledge of the industry with others.

Roy Rosales of the Albuquerque NM Service Center was honored as the “Recruit of the Year,” which recognizes a new member of the UPT team who is “professional, dedicated and exceptional.” Rosales was recognized for his knowledge of the trucking industry and his focus on safety as a top priority.

Albert Cruz of the Houston TX service center was named as the “2013 Technician of the Year.”

Other drivers recognized for superior performance were: Forrest Raines, Abilene TX; Juan Morales, Albuquerque; Robert Benton Amarillo TX; Lance Anderson, Bill Evans, and Ruben Perez, Dallas-Fort Worth TX; Dennis Davis and Nathaniel Houston, Houston; Richard Levinson, Phoenix AZ, and Kevin Jordan and Peter Saenz, San Antonio TX. 

“To be named one of the top 12 drivers in a fleet of over 600 drivers is exceptional,” Price said. “These gentlemen deserve congratulations on a job well done.”
