Savage to operate MSE transload facility

Savage Companies has entered into a preliminary agreement with the Mississippi Export Railroad (MSE) under which Savage will operate a multi-user transload facility owned by MSE in Helena MS.

Savage Companies has entered into a preliminary agreement with the Mississippi Export Railroad (MSE) under which Savage will operate a multi-user transload facility owned by MSE in Helena MS.

This new facility is approximately 15 miles north of Pascagoula MS and within close proximity to four major ports: Pascagoula, Mobile AL, Gulfport MS, and New Orleans LA. Offering easy access to Interstate 10 and Highway 63, the facility is a secure site with 40 active transload car spots and a 40,000-square-foot warehouse with rail access, and it is zoned for light industrial use.

The facility is served by the MSE, which interchanges with the Canadian National Railway in Evanston MS and CSXT in Pascagoula, and can access the Kansas City Southern and Norfolk Southern lines.

Savage and MSE are in discussions with potential customers to use the transload facility.
