The average price of a gallon of diesel fuel nationwide fell for a fourth straight week, decreasing 2.1 cents to $2.601 a gallon, according to US Department of Energy information

The average price of a gallon of diesel fuel nationwide fell for a fourth straight week, decreasing 2.1 cents to $2.601 a gallon, according to US Department of Energy information.

Trucking’s main fuel has now dropped 7.3 cents in the past month, and the most recent price put it $1.358 below the same week in 2008.

The least expensive region was the Gulf Coast, which dropped 1.7 cents to $2.525. The most costly area is still California at $2.807, a 2-cent decline.
