OTL/UPT recognizes employee professionalism

Oklahoma Tank Lines/United Petroleum Transports has named Kenny Williams as 2009 Professional Driver of the Year, according to Greg Price, president and chief executive officer

Oklahoma Tank Lines/United Petroleum Transports has named Kenny Williams as 2009 Professional Driver of the Year, according to Greg Price, president and chief executive officer.

“After 30 plus years, Kenny Williams has extensive knowledge of his profession and demonstrates his abilities in a sound and skillful manner. He was nominated for OTL/UPT Driver of the Year in 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2008 and has continued to perform in an commendable manner,” said Price. “He is fully deserving of our top award, Professional Driver of the Year.”

Williams, who is with the OTL/UPT service center in Abilene TX and lives in Belton with his wife Robin, has safely logged more than 987,500 career miles.

Also honored as the Recruit of the Year was Paul Elterman of the Albuquerque Service Center. Honored as that new member of the OTL/UPT team who is “professional, dedicated, and exceptional,” Elterman was recognized for his knowledge of the trucking industry and his focus on safety as a top priority.

Armando San Miquel of the El Paso TX service center was named as the 2009 Technician of the Year. During the past five years, San Miquel has displayed an outstanding level of service for OTL/UPT by being safe and keeping the fleet on the road.

Other drivers recognized for superior performance were: Luis Delgado and David Ramirez, El Paso; Glarince Covington, Bill Evans, and Ruben Perez, Dallas/Fort Worth TX; Larry Dixon and Kenneth Pitts, Houston TX; Carl Andrew, Danny Byars, and Mike Lemley, Oklahoma City OK; and John Hill, Tulsa OK.
