A Former mayor of New York City and an American Trucking Associations (ATA) economy expert will headline the National Tank Truck Carriers (NTTC) Annual Conference and Equipment Show May 18-20 in New York City.
“We are very excited to bring our 60th Anniversary Conference and Equipment Show to New York City,” says John Conley, NTTC president.
“Certainly the topics on our agenda and the equipment and services on display on our exhibit floor would amaze attendees from the first annual conference and show held at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington DC in 1948,” he adds. “However, I suspect that attendees from the only other NTTC annual conference held in New York City, at the Waldorf Astoria in 1950, would not at all be surprised to see that New York is still one of the most exciting and dynamic cities in the world.”
Who better could speak to the city's attraction than Ed Koch, who served three terms as mayor from 1978 to 1989. Koch will kickoff the conference at the opening breakfast Monday.
The mayor was recognized for his monetary expertise, placing the city on a generally accepted accounting practices budget. Today, Koch is a weekly guest on NY1 television, writes a weekly political column, and publishes movie reviews.
Bob Costello serves as chief economist and vice-president at ATA. He manages the association's collection, analysis, and dissemination of trucking economic information, and also conducts economic analyses of proposed regulations and legislation affecting the trucking industry.

The convention begins Sunday with registration and the equipment show opening at 3 pm through 6 pm.
Monday's events include the opening breakfast at 8 am with the keynote speaker followed by exhibits at 9:30 am and general session at 11 am. Following lunch at 12:30 pm, exhibits close at 1:30 pm. The Chairman's Reception gets underway at 5 pm.
Tuesday activities are highlighted by the Safety Awards Breakfast that begins at 8 am. Exhibits are available from 9:30 am until 12:30 am. The general session begins at 11 am. In the afternoon, the membership and board of directors' meeting is set for 1:30 pm. At 6 pm, the conference concludes with the Allied Committee for the Trucking Industry Reception.
