The American Transportation Research Institute (ATRI) has unveiled its list of the top 10 critical issues facing United States truckers. Commercial driver hours-of-service rules and the driver shortage top the list in ATRI's survey of more than 5,000 trucking industry executives. Aside from hours-of-service and the driver shortage, other top 10 issues include fuel issues, congestion, government regulation, tolls and highway funding, tort reform, and truck driver training.

The American Trucking Associations (ATA)-commissioned survey results and proposed strategies will be used by the ATA to better focus its advocacy role on behalf of the US trucking industry and ATA Federation stakeholders.
