Heniff buys East Texas chemical fleet

Jan. 13, 2016

Heniff Transportation Systems LLC, headquartered in Oak Brook IL, has acquired EZ Alternative Transport LLC, a Texas bulk chemical hauler based in Nederland.

Privately held, EZ Alternative Transport, was formed due to the demand for a service focused carrier in eastern Texas. The current management and driver teams will transition to Heniff Transportation Systems.

“This acquisition opens the doors to some terrific new accounts and an ability to offer additional capacity to our current key accounts,” said Bob Heniff, owner and president of Heniff Transportation. “With over 200 trucks in the gulf coast region and strategically positioned terminal locations, we’re in a tremendous position as we continue to grow our network footprint in the gulf region.”

The acquisition of EZ Alternative Transport expands Heniff’s footprint in the Gulf Coast to over 200 trucks. Heniff now has 14 terminals strategically positioned across the Midwest, Northeast, Central, South, and Southeastern United States. This increased scale and market penetration in the gulf coast will enable Heniff to provide outstanding customer service to new and current key accounts, recruit more drivers, improve efficiency and drive synergies across the entire fleet.

"The EZ Alternative Transport team looks forward to continuing our vision of building a world class bulk liquid transportation company dedicated to exceptional customer service with Heniff Transportation,” said Edward Zizmont Jr, owner EZ Alternative Transport. “Joining the Heniff team allows us to reach our goal with an established, dynamic growing organization much faster."
