Heil Trailer North America has chosen Haldex Trailer Roll Stability as standard on its trailers beginning this summer, according to Haldex Commercial Vehicle Systems managers speaking at a press conference during the 2008 Mid-America Trucking Show. Heil Trailer International, a Dover Company, manufactures tank trailers for the transport of petroleum, dry bulk commodities, and specialty products.

The TRS system, built on Haldex's newest 4S/2M ABS platform, provides the next generation of high-performance braking along with roll stability safety technology. TRS is designed for one- to three- or more-axle trailers using an air suspension. The system delivers superior braking performance by adjusting for the trailer conditions during normal and ABS braking events as well as to intervene with active braking if conditions indicate a rollover is imminent.

The TRS 2nd Generation system:

  • includes a trailer brake lamp illumination during roll event

  • Integral control port air filter

  • integral NPT ports

  • Separately serviceable ECU & modulator Valve Sections

  • Auxiliary Capability for Expanded Features

  • Speed Controlled Air Bag Control

  • Lift Axle Control

  • Lining Wear Monitoring

  • Tire Pressure Monitoring

  • Soft Docking

  • Corrosion Resistant ECU & Modulator Design

  • Light weight and impact resistant EGP Materials

  • Push to Connect, Weather Tight Electrical Connectors

  • Fleet+ Optional PC Diagnostic Program

Haldex officials also announced the availability of an all-inclusive ABS replacement kit that includes all of the necessary parts needed to replace an outdated ABS system quickly and easily. A replacement kit is available to upgrade nearly any trailer ABS system with the latest Haldex ABS technology. The replacement kits contain a variety of component levels from the basic ABS system items to an all inclusive kit with all of the components needed to save time, money, and reduce inventory.

The typical kit includes:

  • PLC Select ECU/Valve Assembly

  • Power Cord or Full Power Cable

  • Sensors, Sensor Clip or Sensor Extensions

  • Miscellaneous Installation Hardware and/or ABS Warning Light
