Groendyke Transport recognized by CivilianJobs.com for hiring military veterans

March 12, 2014

CivilianJobs.com, where America's veterans connect with civilian careers, announced recently that Groendyke Transport Inc is a finalist for the “Most Valuable Employers (MVE) for the Military. Marking the sixth year of its publication in 2014, the MVE recognition serves to help veterans identify the top employers to target for civilian careers.

Greg Hodgen, president of Groendyke Transport, says: “Due to the nature of our business, Groendyke has enjoyed a very prosperous and successful relationship with our Nation’s returning veterans. These individuals are trained to think on their feet, keep their composure under stress, and are natural leaders among our workforce. All these qualities make them a great fit for Groendyke, and for the tank truck industry. As an employer, we also have a responsibility to and for these men and women. They are returning from duty, looking for good jobs, and they shouldn’t have to look long or hard. We can’t repay them for their service, but we can provide them with a great career home.”

The 2014 Most Valuable Employers (MVE) for Military was open to all US-based companies. The finalists were selected based on surveys in which employers outlined their recruiting, training, and retention plans that best serve military service members and veterans. Winners will be selected from this pool of finalist companies, and will be announced May 1, 2014.
