A national online forums that provide peer-to-peer industry insights on safety technologies will be co-hosted January 8 by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and the American Transportation Research Institute (ATRI), according to information from the American Trucking Association (ATA).

The webinar will focus on carrier utilization of untethered trailer tracking systems and their potential for enhancing asset management and security in trucking operations.

ATA pointed out that with the dramatic increase in the use of trailer tracking systems throughout the United States, it is important to understand the operational impacts and opportunities that the tracking systems can provide. Industry participants in the webinar will hear from Mike Gabbei, chief information officer for Celadon Trucking Services, and Al Hoffer, director of trailer operations for Landstar Systems on their use of the systems.

Motor carrier representatives can simultaneously listen to and watch the live webinar from any location in the U.S. that has internet and telephone access.
