The Chlorine Institute Inc has launched an initiative to provide a vast majority of its technical publications free to key chlor-alkali industry stakeholders via the institute's online bookstore.

"In an effort to promote safety stewardship within the chlor-alkali industry, the Chlorine Institute has decided to provide free download access to pamphlets that previously were available only through sale," said Arthur E Dungan, institute president. "Twenty-six of the 47 technical pamphlets already have been made available free, including five added so far this year. Five more will be added each quarter for the remainder of the year."

Pamphlet subjects include recommended practices for handling chlorine bulk highway transports, emergency shut-off systems for bulk transfer of chlorine, and personal protective equipment for chlor-alkali chemicals.
